Veterans Memorial State Park

Description

Veterans Memorial State Park is located in Boise and is open year-round from sunrise to sunset. The wonderful Julia Davis Greenbelt follows the Boise River and winds through the park. This eighty-six-acre park also has picnic areas and boating and fishing access to both the river and Boise Lake.

Bordered by two busy city streets, this park is a broad and deep getaway to the Boise River and Greenbelt pathways. Cottonwood trees rise above walkers, cyclists and families playing on gentle contours.

As the name implies the park honors our nation's veterans. It is a popular site for ceremonies, and a number of plaques and memorials commemorate veterans, including America's first POW memorial.
