(right) Hood Building, built 1893, at corner of North Main and West Lander, downtown Pocatello, looking north on Main, mid 1920s. The facade of this building was covered with plastic in the 1960s. After J. C. Penney moved to the Pine Ridge Mall, the building stood empty for over 10 years. In 1994 it was purchased by the City of Pocatello. After being condemned, the building was razed in May, 1996. The Chief Foundation plans to build a theater and Convention Facility on the site.
