Overview:
Hot spots have occurred all across Idaho. This activity will help students identify and locate these hot spots.

Procedure:
Print a larger version of the Idaho map with one hot spot labeled below. Draw in and label the rest of the hot spots that occurred across Idaho, include their approximate eruption dates. At each time spot, describe what you think Idaho may have looked like in that area before the eruption occurred. What did it look like afterwards? Discuss how water flow and drainages would have changed in the region following the eruption. (Remember, eruptions generally occurred over a period of time).
